Wicklow Uplands Council works by consensus to represent the shared interests in the Wicklow Uplands. It aims to influence national and local policies affecting the Uplands. The Council prepares position papers and responds to calls for submissions on national and local strategies, plans and issues. It co-ordinates the development of local policy on issues affecting the uplands as well as supporting national initiatives such as ‘Leave no Trace’ Ireland.

Current issues affecting the Wicklow Uplands include:
·         Dog Control
·         Leave no Trace
·         Renewable Energy
