Hazardous Road conditions, Snow, Sleet, Ice, Snowball Throwing and Hot Water Bottles all expected this week

Temperatures are expected to plunge today (Monday), bringing with it hazardous road conditions, ice and a likely blanket of snow across upland areas. Unsettled weather with wintry showers at times and severe frost in some regions is forecast to last till at least the weekend.
Caution should be taken when traveling and the Road Safety Authority has advised:

“Watch out for black ice. Black ice is difficult to see. It is nearly transparent ice that often looks like a harmless puddle or is overlooked entirely”

“ It can occur especially in sheltered or shaded areas on roads, under trees and adjacent to high walls.

Please remember to stay communication with your elderly neighbours through this cold period.
