Wicklow Uplands Council invites you to the launch of the recently established Avonmore Way at the Old School Clara Vale, Clara Vale Church Grounds on Saturday the 16th April at 12pm.
The Avonmore Way is a new trail which will provide a strategic off road link with Rathdrum and Laragh and promote independent access to the Wicklow Uplands for visitors who can link with public transport, stay longer in the area and spend locally. The development of the trail has been undertaken in partnership with private and public landowners and in co-operation with local communities.
The 12km trail provides magnificent views of Wicklow Mountains as it skirts around Trooperstown Hill and passes through the beautiful Clara Vale Nature Reserve alongside the Avonmore River.
Interested walkers are invited to join the communities walking from either end of the trail to arrive at Clara Vale for the launch on the morning of the 16th April. The walk from Laragh side will start at Trooperstown Forest Carpark at 10am and it will take 1hr 55min to reach the Old School Clara Vale. The walk from Rathdrum side will start at Stump of the Castle Forest Entrance at 10.30am and it will take 1hr 10min to reach the Old School Clara Vale. The trail will be officially launched by journalist Valerie Cox at the Old School in Clara Vale at 12pm. A bus will be available from Clara Vale for walkers who would need a lift back to their cars following the launch. Walkers' cars will be watched by two Tourism Ambassadors from County Wicklow Partnership. All are welcome. For more info, contact Wicklow Uplands Council on 01 2818406 or email@example.com
