Strategic Plans

The Board of the Council is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the current Strategic Plan with progress being assessed twice per year using a series of performance indicators

Strategic Plan 2021-2023

In 2020, Wicklow Uplands Council engaged in consultation with members, staff and partners to develop a three year Strategic Plan 2021-2023. The plan sets out a series of objectives  to guide our work over the next period. Central to this will be building on the successes of our current key projects, while at the same time, investigating new initiatives and policy developments in line with our mission to support those who live, work, and recreate in the uplands.

Strategic Plan 2014-2016

The Uplands Council employs a part time co-ordinator (4 days per week) and an administrator (10 hours a week) so there is a need to be realistic about what can be achieved by the organisation. The focus must be on a small number of key priorities and projects which make a clear contribution to the development of the shared vision of the Uplands Council.

Strategic Plan 2011-2013

In 2010 the Council engaged in consultation with its members, project partners and stakeholders to identify a clear road map for the future of the organisation. The process identified the key challenges facing the Wicklow uplands and the Uplands Council and key priorities for action during the period 2011 -2013.  The following were identified as the four key priorities for action:

Priority 1 Engagement tasks to build consensus
Priority 2 Represent uplands shared interests
Priority 3 Development of innovative projects to support Uplands sustainability
Priority 4 Organisational development and implementation of communication strategy
